University of Coimbra and University of Rome are the big winners in day 1 of EUC Judo 2017 which will be held in Coimbra until thursday.

The first day was dedicated to the Kata competion. In the Nage no Kate competition, University of Coimbra won the gold medal reaching 112 points, against 104 from University of Vienna who won the silver. The bronze medal went to Rhine-Westphalia Institute of Technology Aachem (Germany).

On the Katame no Kate competition, the winners were University of Rome, followed by University of Cork (Ireland), Technology University of Vienna and Josip Juraj Strossmayera University of Osijek (Croatia).

Tomorrow start the combat competition with the following categories: -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -60kg (Female) and -63kg, -66kg and -73kg (Male).
